Supported Internships

Supported internships are structured study programmes, which are open to 17 to 24-year-olds who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

These internships are based within a host business and last for one academic year. Young people are taught the skills they need to find employment and supported to search for jobs towards the end of the programme.

Typically, a programme will consist of three unpaid work experience placements, which are full time, Monday to Friday and last approximately 10 weeks each.

For more information please email Stuart Smith, Work Inclusion Partnerships Manager, projectsearch@Hillingdon.gov.uk

Approximately 75 per cent of young people with an EHCP who graduate from a supported internship achieve paid employment.
