Pentland Field is a unique school whose provision, both in the classroom and through therapy, is closely matched to the needs of our different types of learners, who all have the potential to enhance their existing levels of attainment, social learning and language skills.
In sixth form, our aim is to “prepare (students) for adulthood” by offering Study Programmes based on three Core Pathways – Ubuntu Pathway, Ikigai Pathway and Susi Pathway.
Study programmes are based on securing positive outcomes for our students, and set solid foundations for adult life. Study programmes at Pentland Field School are coherent, and provide students with appropriately designed and challenging learning experiences.
Study Programmes enable students to progress to: further study, employment with training including apprenticeships, supported employment and or greater independence as an adult. Person-centred planning from Year 9+ ensures bespoke opportunities to develop self-advocacy skills, as well as decision making skills ensuring our students excel in all aspects of adulthood.
Consistent with the vision of our school, we aim to ensure our students positively contribute to society and reach their full potential. We have a fantastic team of teachers, teaching assistants and administration staff who are all committed to educating and supporting our pupils.
