Why choose

Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education

At Learn Hillingdon, Londoners are invited to gain new skills, explore their creative talents and shape their future by choosing from the hundreds of part-time day, evening and weekend adult education classes on offer.

Low-cost sessions are offered to adults aged over 19, at Hillingdon’s three adult education centres in Uxbridge, Harlington and South Ruislip, with courses also held at Ruislip Manor Library and the Rural Activities Garden Centre. We also offer community based and online classes.

At Learn Hillingdon we have people brushing up their English, Maths and Digital Skills, and many are at various stages of English language learning. Some people want a GCSE and others want the confidence to talk to people at the Post Office or local shop with confidence. Learn Hillingdon also supports adult learners working towards jobs in social care, healthcare and mental health, with others progressing to jobs supporting children with their early development. We have people learning about digital marketing for businesses, cybersecurity and community interpreting, while others are learning how to start and grow a floristry business with our Chelsea Flower Show award-winning tutors.

Learn Hillingdon also offers creative classes such as calligraphy, drawing and painting, flower arranging, gardening, photography and sewing, as well as cooking, dance exercise and languages. We offer introductory to advanced level courses with experienced and friendly staff. Our provision for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities offers a nurturing environment for learners and supports independent living and skills for work. The range of courses include creative, staying healthy, to preparing for work courses.
